Last month GemArts met Shakirul Alam, a very talented and passionate North East film maker, who has just completed his first feature film Teen Taal, filmed in Delhi, India. Teen Taal tells the true story of musician, Attar Singh Chowdhary, and also stars his son Guarav Chowdhary who is attempting to revive his father’s unfinished dream.
GemArts work with some of the UK and India’s finest tabla players, so when Shakirul started to tell us about his film, and the fact it portrays tabla player Attar Singh Chowdhary’s life, we were very excited. Although the film is due for theatrical release later in 2015, two special screenings of Teen Taal will be held at Tyneside Cinema next week, details of these Tux and Gown preview screenings are below.
